Preparing Young Students for the Future World of Work
21ST CENTURY SKILL STARTS NOW: S.B PATIL WORKSHOP
A workshop was arranged for students and parents by S.B Patil Public School in Pune for its students of 9th standard. The workshop focused on helping students about the importance of knowing who they are and to actively explore the world of work so they can find the job of their choice. Students were taught that even daily chores can help them realise some essential core skills that they possess. Parents were encouraged to engage in conversations with their children in order to arrive at better career and life decisions.
Overall, the workshop was driven with an aim to teach students that in order to become 21st century citizens they are required to be more fluid and flexible. Most of these skills are forged in the mind and therefore should be taught when the mind is fresh, mature and ready for it i.e. during adolescence.
